Marie-Christine Skuncke has been awarded Letterstedtska författarpriset for her book on Thunberg

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded Marie-Christine Skuncke Letterstedtska
författarpriset 2015 (the Letterstedt Author Prize 2015) for her book Carl Peter Thunberg: Botanist
and Physician. She will receive the prize during a ceremony on 7 October 2015.

Marie-Christine Skuncke is Professor of Literature at Uppsala University. She has had a long and close
affiliation with SCAS, and has been both a regular Fellow and a Non-resident Long-term Fellow for
Programmes in Eighteenth-Century Studies and Cultural and Literary History. A large part of the Thunberg
book was written during Skuncke 's time in residence at SCAS and it was published by the Collegium in 2014.
